Wrap-Up: 2013 Women’s Fund Tiara 5K

DSC_9236 (2) DSC_9445 (2) DSC_9630 (2)Despite the early morning rain, close to 750 runners and walkers braved the weather to participate in the 7th Annual Women’s Fund Tiara 5K at the Oxford Creamery on Mother’s Day, Sunday May 12, 2013. Many families are now making the Tiara 5K part of their mother’s day tradition. It is truly a family friendly event, with a kids fun run, face painting, music, ice cream and more.

The rain cleared just before the start of the race and it turned out to be a truly special morning as families ran and walked together in support of the efforts of the Women’s Fund. Over $45,000 was raised through this year’s event. The money raised helps support the Women’s Fund in its mission to advance the educational and economic advancement of women and girls in Southeastern Massachusetts.

Mark your calendars for Sunday, May 11, 2014. Plans are already underway for the 8th annual event! Registration information should be available just after the 1st of the year. If you’d like to get involved in planning the event or volunteering on race day please contact Traci at the Women’s Fund at tcalabrese@womensfundsema.org
